Some interesting information about Westmoreland and the prints
Westmoreland is one of the northern counties in England. Its northern border is with Cumberland, to the east Durham and Yorkshire and to the south-west - Lancashire.
It is a small county in the lake district, a region which contains some of the most picturesque scenery in England. Lake Windermere is one of the most famous of the lakes in this area as can be seen by the numerous images on and around it in the list below. The surrounding scenery is not the only imagery in this publication, there are also scenes within stately homes and Community celebrations. For example: The interior of Sizergh Hall which shows the lifestyle of a noble woman and The Rushbearing at Ambleside.
The rush-bearing festival was originally a necessity, the churches of old had uncomfortable floors and rushes were laid down in order to make it more comfortable. The renewal of these rushes became a celebration and an annual holiday this was later faded out when mats were made and it was not necessary to replace them as frequently.

SOME GIFT IDEAS FROM JULIE
FOR THE HARD TO BUY FOR,
perhaps a map or print of somewhere important in their lives. For example, where
they were born, got married, went on honeymoon etc.
A general search should find that, I do have a wide selection
of topographical views and historical maps.
America's,
UK,
Europe,
Asia,
Africa,
Australia,
The World, Etc.
Or do a search for their last name, you will be surprised
what you might discover.
This of course applies to anniversaries, graduations, births etc. For
example some friends of mine are soon to celebrate their Silver Wedding
Anniversary, so I am having the SILVER BIRCH
FLOWER
FAIRY matted & framed for them.
